Typically made from fermented grape juice, wine ferments without the addition of sugars, acids, enzymes and other nutrients. With records of the beverage dating back to around 6000BC, wine is classified based on the region where it is produced, as well as the type of grape used.
Wines are generally classified as red, white and rosé, with their generic origin being either New World or Old World.
